Clean and Clear and Free the Children have come together to make a facebook event campaign which encourages users to donate bricks to their friends and with each brick donated, Clean and Clear will donate a dollar to building a school in Haiti.
Above are two of the ads that Clean and Clear has been using to promote this cause. There is a small amount of body copy that connects the images to the cause and tries to pull you in.
Below is more information on the promotion.

Aldo Shoes For Life
The popular shoe company Aldo has created an online promotion where you play three games to win the chance of free shoes for life (2 pairs a year for the next 25 years).
http://www.aldoshoesforalifetime.com/
The site lets you play three different games of chance and each time you pick your 'lucky shoe' and hope you win.
It's an effective promotion for both the consumer and the company because after the player has played all three games they are given a coupon for a fifteen percent discount (if they win all three games), which allows them to feel like they got something of worth while encouraging purchases since the coupon comes with an expiration date.
The website is also really cute and a great way to promote the new shoes for the season. I know I saw a few on there that I ended up searching for at their online store since I hadn't seen them before.
It's a fun and effective way to promote their shoes while also giving back to their loyal customers. What do you guys think?
X-Men First Class
Online ads are some of my favourite forms of advertisements just based on the level of interaction and creativity that you can get with it. It's like a meld of television and magazines but all at one spot with a clear idea of who your target market is.
A great example of a online interactive ad is this:
http://www.mediamind.com/creative_zone/X_Men_First_Class/index.html
It's a homepage takeover and it's great because it is aimed directly at it's target market and it's set up in a way that it doesn't feel like a typical advertisement. I think the clips you get after clicking on one of the characters is a great touch. And if you don't want to see little video clips there is also a gallery option that you can browse through to see stills from the movie.
Despite how much I love this ad, that's not to say it doesn't have flaws. For one, I have no idea where the close button is and once it goes to the actual take over aspect, I can't find a sound button.
I'm not sure if that's a result of it being on mediamind or what, but those are two things that should not have been omitted.
